Resolventum is software for tutoring schools. A school signs up, and its owner and tutors type in students, families, lessons, notes, and payments. This page says what we store, why, who else sees it, and how to get it deleted.
Who is responsible for what
The school is responsible for the information it enters about its students and families. It decides what to record and it is the one that has a relationship with the family. Resolventum keeps that information on the school's behalf and does not use it for anything except running the service for that school. If you are a parent or student and want to know what a school has recorded about you, ask the school. If you want us to check that the school has deleted it, write to info@resolventum.com.
What we store
- For each login: name, email, a hashed password, timezone, and display preferences. Never the password itself.
- For each sign-in session: a random token, the browser's user agent string, and its IP address, so a school can see where it is signed in and sign out everywhere.
- What the school enters: students, their guardians (names, emails, phone numbers, addresses), tutors, lessons, session notes, homework, agreements and signatures, charges, payments, expenses, and files the school uploads such as receipts and tutors' tax forms.
- An audit trail of who changed what, kept so a school can see its own history.
- For billing: a Stripe customer id and the state of the subscription. Card numbers are entered on Stripe's pages and stay with Stripe.
We do not run advertising, we do not sell data, and we do not use the school's data to train anything.
Children
Many students are under 13. Their information is entered by the school, which has the family's consent through its own enrollment. Resolventum never asks a child for information, and a student does not have a login. Homework links go to the email the school entered for the student, or to the guardian when there is none.
Who else sees it
- Google Cloud hosts the application and the database, in the United States.
- Resend delivers email: statements, session notes, reminders, invitations, password resets. It sees the recipient address and the message.
- Stripe handles subscription payments. It sees the school's name, the owner's email, and the card.
- Google Gemini, only when a school uses the AI features to draft a parent note, homework feedback, or read a receipt. The text or image is sent to produce the draft and is not used by us for anything else.
We share data with nobody else unless the law requires it.
How long we keep it
As long as the school has an account. Charges and payments are never deleted while the account exists, only voided with a reason, so the balance history stays complete. When a school closes its account, or asks us to, everything it entered is deleted, including its files and the logins that belonged only to it. Database backups are kept for 14 days and then expire.
Your data is yours
A school can export every table as a spreadsheet, or everything at once, from its Office page at any time, and can do so after its subscription ends. We do not hold data hostage.
Security
Connections are encrypted. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Session tokens are stored hashed, so a copy of the database does not give away a login. Access is limited to the people who run Resolventum, and only to fix a problem the school asks about.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in, and one remembers whether the sidebar is collapsed. There are no tracking or advertising cookies.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, schools will get an email before the change takes effect.
